Advanced Scouting

In addition to our unmatched analysis on quarterbacks annually in the draft, we have also proven to be the best at advanced scouting—i.e., evaluating prospects years in advance. The latest example is the 2025 quarterback class.

In January of 2024, we were asked by a world-class agency to provide a preliminary big board of the 2025 draft class. If made public, it would have been the first board available for the 2025 NFL Draft, and Cam Ward was included as a first-round prospect.

Over the next several months leading up to the 2025 college football season, media boards started to become published—all of which had Carson Beck as the top quarterback with the exception of one (which had Riley Leonard ranked first). Almost every Top 50 board didn’t even have Ward ranked, and PFF had him outside their Top 100.

Anecdotally, Brock Purdy as a true freshman at Iowa State, Bo Nix as a true freshman at Auburn, and Jayden Daniels as a true freshman at Arizona State were all overlooked as future top prospects at the time, but we immediately identified all three as intriguing quarterbacks with the natural “feel” it takes to play the position at a high level.
